    Hi,

Thanks for asking this very interesting question. Let me lay down a small course for self study (We encourage that):

    1. Learn what marketing is (around 2 weeks): I would have recommended a book like Philip Kotler. If you are looking for online study, try http://managementhelp.org/mrktng/mrktng.htm (I haven't gone through it) or search for other systematic study. See all the examples, learn various Ps with good examples.
    2. Learn how web is adding a different dimension to marketing: Again I would suggest some books, Seth Godin's Meat Ball Sundae http://www.seoforclients.com/edu/books.html . Read few blogs like Seth Godin's blog http://sethgodin.typepad.com/ , see some of the videos at http://www.ted.com (Jeff Bezos - founder - Amazon and some other videos on web)
    3. Now understand what web marketing is about

      - Learn one programming language , Learn php
    6. Learn about some basic usability stuffs:

    While learning:
    - Keep a list of the new words
    - Don't forget to search YouTube for some of the related videos, I learn the new things from YouTube first.
    - Ask queries in forums
    - Whom you know is more important than what you know, so keep making friends in this web world, use twitter, drop comments on their blog etc etc

    Enjoy
